I walked into my local Walgreens last week and I could not believe my eyes, could it possibly be true? Did someone finally come up with the answer I had been searching for all these years? Yes… nail art pens! *screams* I was ecstatic to find that Sally Hansen had released nail design pens, imagine the possibilities of creating your own unique designs, I grabbed a silver pen and paid the $7.99 without haste, I hopped all the way home anxious to try out my new beauty toy.
At home and in a safe place where I could try out all the infinite design possibilities on my nails, I opted for a silver nail tip to try my new nail tool, when I first started pressing the pen down I had to press it so hard that a lot of the nail polish came out and splattered all over my fingers. As I was cleaning off the nail paint I realized how thin and watery it was, I shook the pen a little more but everytime I pressed it down I noticed how the color was dulled by the ridiculous amount of water it had. Unfortunately, the pen only has 0.067 Fl. oz. and most of it was wasted on my first try :/ As you can see in the pictures, Sally Hansen’s silver nail paint looks very dull in comparison to real silver nail polish.
The verdict, these pens are great if you want to design an outline and then use real nail polish to cover it, otherwise you’ll be wasting $7.99 on watery paint that even with a top coat will not last a day.
