My long hair Barbie ended up with a shaved head and my glow in the dark gown
doll had a bad case of washer machine shrinkage, oh… the memories haha.

I’m a bit behind, trying to keep with New York Fashion Week like every other fashionista on the planet takes a lot of time and energy… phewww. I dropped by Bloomingdale’s last Wednesday and saw the awesome display of Barbies in celebration of the doll’s 50th Anniversary. The display will be up until February 22nd, so make sure to drop by and if you were a sickly obsessed Barbie aficionado like me you’ll love the collection on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. I was really surprised by the assortment of dolls and the ethnic and racial diversity of the display! By the way, they showcased the first gay Barbie, scroll down to read more….
Batwoman is currently my favorite doll, she is the first lesbian and Jewish female character in the DC universe, isn’t that awesome or what?! That makes her the first gay Barbie! Hmm….I would absolutely love a Bisexual Teresa, now that would be collector’s piece ;)

Did you like Barbie when you were young? What was your favorite doll?

I was never allowed Barbie when i was young. Now i love her. Haha, what a rebel!
Chelsea- Right on! Barbie was the reflection of all the sinful delights I wanted as an 8 year old.
Maria- Que bueno que tambien tengan also similar en espana, besos.
Ooh! I remember the glow in the dark dress! I used to love making clothes for my barbies, and dying their hair with coloured textas!
I remember my sister getting in trouble for giving her new barbie a spiked hairdo :D
I had the pink glow in the dark stars dress! My skin head barbie used to wear it.
My favourite was Skipper. I think she was Barbies teen sister. In my dollhouse (which consisted of a shelf in mum’s over crowded linen closet filled with cardboard box furniture and plastic dinosaurs) skipper was always showing off her tits and stealing Ken. I was 8.
Shannon- Skipper was a naughty sister, I always knew she had a plot to come between Ken and Barbie ;)
