Lately, I have noticed an adorable trend of mini hats and small top hats showing up everywhere from runway shows, TV’s fab Gossip Girl and in the streets. In the past, hats were an important element in European fashion, it symbolized status and hierarchy. Womens’ hats reached the height of it’s popularity when Marie Antoinette decided to wear over the top and show stopping pieces, Edwardian and Victorian hats followed but were much larger with wider brims and bigger details.
Tarina Tarantino is one of my favorite accessory designers, I was ecstatic when I found out she was releasing a Swarovski pave mini top hat via Revolve Clothing, but to my dismay it is priced at ($1,000) and only 5 of these were made! Obviously, I cannot afford to spend that amount of money but I have found other fun alternatives ;)
I absolutely love the look of the Marie Antoinette miniature inspired hats at Topsy Turvy Designs, they are unique and the attention to detail and workmanship is phenomenal.
I adore barrettes and I was dying when I saw the episode: There Might be Blood in Gossip Girl. In this episode, Jenny (Taylor Momsen) was wearing a miniature hat barrette, as you can see my barrette is very similar to Jenny’s, except that it has lace and ribbon for that Tokyo lolita style.

Ooh yes! I’ve been noticing them lately too, and I’m in the middle of making one for myself! I think they’re such a cute accessory:)

I am a big hat fan but never really got the craze for mini headgear. Mainly the mini bowler and top hats…why and when wear them, haha.
I don't know if fascinators & tiny top hats are a trend in my life or a way of life– I've been on this train so long that I see no place to get off. Not that I'd want to!
this is a fab trend, I love this sort of headgear, I hope it becomes widespread
