Many of us are not familiar with the hidden kingdom of North Korea but beyond the horrible news and the iron grip of kim jung il, exists magnificent beauty. The human spirit is one of those things than can overcome anything, as long as there is faith and hope, freedom will always shine in the eyes of those who believe. I know one day the people of North Korea will be able to speak freely without the fear of oppression and punishment. In the meantime all we can do is admire and hopefully wait to see the beauty that is locked within.

Wow, these pictures are amazing–beautiful indeed!
I love these pictures, very inspiring! The one where the girls infront of the curtain is great and the one on the motorcycle, the expression on her face makes me want to know what shes thinking. hmm
The photo of the girls with the spotlight on the one girl really speaks to me. They have such a beautiful culture, its a shame it’s so foreign to many people
As a woman of Korean descent (I was born in America- as my parents immigrated here in the 70s)– it always makes my heart hurt a little to see pictures of the suffering in North Korea. It all used to be part of one country. The hope is that one day, they’ll be able to unite as one.
