The Snow Princess: Revealed!

As mentioned earlier this week, I wanted to reveal the purpose of my Snow Princess project, are you guys ready?….. *drum roll please*  Here it is!

My secret inspiration was my sister’s theme for her fun winter wonderland Quinceañera,  in Latin America this is a huge event that marks a girl’s coming of age into adolescence, other similar coming of age celebrations are the Bat Mitzvah and thanks to MTV, the notorious - Sweet Sixteen.  Jazmin’s birthday is on New Year’s eve and she wanted to have a small party that could also evolve into a New Year’s bash, my sister also decided against the typical gigantic gown and chose a simple dress instead,  hope you like the pics :)

The traditional religious blessing for a girl’s 15th birthday, can you spot Jazmin’s smile :)

The Snow Princess

.

I wish everyone a wonderful New Year and hope all your dreams come true for 2010

Much love always,

I remember nine years ago my best friend from Guatemala had a huge party for her 15th. I got to dress up all pretty to accompany her, and she looked amazing. It was like a wedding with no groom! I hope your sister had a wonderful time, she looks beautiful.

I remember when I had my quincenera, we had to wear that big poofy white dress. That was when white wedding dress styles were in! I look back and think, OMG its my future wedding. This definitly made me think, I realized that when I have my own wedding, it will be about me and my husband than what my mother wants (which was how my quincenera ended up being). I like the trend though from white dresses to beautiful colored dresses, if I had the courage, I would have done a colored dress. I believe the shawl was for the church ceremony?
