I too have a love/hate relationship with fashion. I've spent many years trying to follow fashion, to be someone who could be called fashionable, but when I finally got enough guts to try the new clothes, the fad has left and I'm just left in the wake. I then decided to keep fashion at a reasonable distance, and work on my education instead. Now that I teach, I've noticed high schoolers tend to be nicer towards teachers who are more fashionable, I guess we teachers are more accesable socially if we resemble the teenagers a bit. In any case, I've been following fashion more so lately, but its more of an acquaintance than a friendship.
