H&M is one of favorite stores, I like the fit of the clothes and know my size by heart. However, a few days ago I saw this tulip skirt dress on a mannequin and fell in love, instead of following my better judgment and trying it on first, I decided to buy it immediately before it was gone. When I got home, I was ecstatic to try on my new dress but I realized it made me look terrible!
The dress on it’s own looks chic and it looked great on a super skinny 6 feet tall mannequin but on a 5’0″ petite girl is a disaster. I should’ve known that a tulip skirt would make my hips look 3 times bigger, also I’m a bit busty and that neckline made my chest look wider, to top it off the skirt shape and length made me look shorter! I also picked out some cute accessories to go with the dress which were my only best buys, check them out….
I wanted affordable accessories so I stopped by forever 21 and noticed this beautiful chandelier faux crystal necklace, I couldn’t resist.
I also bought this huge (almost half the size of my index finger) clear ring with crystals. I also picked up this bracelet at H&M which ended up being my only good purchase at the store.
Finally….
I’m so embarrassed
I don’t even want to show you the dress but………
I don’t know…….
ughhhh…… alright here it is in all it’s fugliness :/
Remember, no matter how great an item looks on a rack or on a mannequin, always try it on first! I think I’ve learned my lesson, maybe :P
