Today, Macy’s launched the Material Girl collection and to celebrate the line’s kick-off, an amazing event was held at Macy’s in Herald Square.
I headed out with Henry (my photog) and didn’t know what to expect, in reality we never thought how insane Macy’s can get when you mix Madonna and Taylor Momsen fans together. The place was super packed and the dog pit (the press area) included some rowdy paparazzi. Although, chaotic at first, Taylor looked fab as always and was super nice to all her fans. She sang a few songs from her band (Pretty Reckless) and I have to admit girlfriend has an amazing voice!
The collection is very cute and reminiscent of Madonna’s 80′s iconic style, I liked the silhouette and fun prints of the dresses. To honor the “Material Girl”, I decided to wear a leopard crop-top and a long black skirt to honor Ally Sheedy from my favorite 80′s movie, The Breakfast Club, hahaha. Check out the pics …..

The collection looks adorable! I definitely see a few pieces I will be looking out for when I visit.
The only problem I have is the whole Taylor Momsen deal. I know they wanted someone “edgy” and distinct, but at the same time, her style really isn’t fashion-forward or remotely creative as the idea of Madonna…

It was so much fun to see Madonna and Lourdes at Macy’s Herald Square. The Material Girl line is so fresh and hip, it’s a great collection for teens and young adults!
