Weekly Fashion Flash: Mulberry for Target, Charlotte Russe Facelift, Fall 2010 Pantone Fashion Colors

  • Today Target will host an exclusive online designer sale via fashion site GILT starting at 12 PM EST lasting through the weekend. Target will feature collections from Tucker for Target, John Derian for Target and Mulberry handbags for Target, get your hands on the collections before they hit stores on September and October.  Check out the pics of my favorite collection from Mulberry, the handbags look super cute and are really affordable! This sale is a new take on the “Target pop-up” shop concept for which Target has become known. Once only accessible to fashionistas in a specific location, this virtual pop-up store offers the whole country early access to the highly coveted limited-time-only collections before anyone else.  (All items are final sale since they are in limited quantities and members are being provided early access.)

The collections will be available in Target stores and on Target.com this fall – Tucker and John Derian hit stores in September, while Mulberry will be in stores in October.

  • Charlotte Russe is getting a well needed make-over, the retail team has decided to give Charlotte Russe stores a chic new look that will enhance the buyer’s experience with a grown-up trendy boutique feel. I think it’s about time Charlotte Russe stores had a face-lift, I didn’t like digging through random sections of clothes and accessories, what do you guys think of the new change?

The goal of the changes is to attract a larger audience of shoppers aged 15 to 29 years old, compared with the previous core demographic of 15- to 18-year-old girls. Charlotte Russe’s teen-oriented fits often haven’t been appropriate for young adults, but have been adjusted to appeal to a wider spectrum of people in an age-spanning psychographic of fashion coveting shoppers that can’t always afford designer wares.

“We had her [young adult customers] coming in, but she was not always finding what fits her,” Ming said. “Today, so many teens shop older and many older [customers] shop younger. Not just focusing on teens, but teens and young adult women broadens the brand.” (source/images WWD subscrption required)
