Outfit Diary: Sequins and Doll Lashes

I just bought a sequin vintage top and couldn’t wait to try it on, I also wanted to try my new Lancôme Hypnôse ”Doll Lashes” Mascara. I like to wear red lipstick and smoky eyes with full long lashes for a sexy evening look. However, I’m not a fan of false lashes and I prefer to wear mascara, I tried Lancôme’s new ‘Doll Lashes’ mascara in very black and was impressed with the results, it only took two coats of mascara and bam my lashes were full and long! Take a look at the shiny sequins and doll lashes under dim lights for extra sparkle…

Dining Review: Basta Pasta @ 37 West 17th St. NY

Jenny and I decided to have dinner at Basta Pasta in New York City, the restaurant offers a fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine with fresh handmade pastas and interesting combinations. For our appetizer, we decided on Asparagi Gratinati, it’s a delicious combination of fresh asparagus with a golden Parmesan crust.

For my entrée, I chose Pappardelle Alla Siciliana, it was a delicious homemade pappardelle pasta with eggplant, basil & fresh tomatoes in a fresh olive oil sauce.

Jenny, was very excited to try their famous squid ink pasta!

Note: This special item is off the menu so you have to ask for it ;)

This special pasta has sauteed squid and the pasta is marinated in the squid’s ink, you have a choice of picking your own pasta for this dish.

Overall, the ambiance was great and our server was very pleasant, the pastas were also very delectable. However, the squid ink pasta, according to Jenny “could have been better”. My Pappardelle Alla Siciliana was simple yet delicious, the restaurant also offers other amazing combinations, take a look at their menu HERE, hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Outfit Diary: Fall Aviator

The weather in NYC has been crazy lately, it’s too hot to wear a thick jacket but it’s too cold to wear short sleeves, so here’s my outfit for an unseasonably warm fall…

My aviator vest is from Target, my comfy boots are from C/O Cougar and my soft sweater dress is from Target. I also decided to cut my bangs this season, I’m still getting used to them but I’m not sure if I’ll keep them ’til spring, what do you guys think?

eBay’s ‘The Inspiration Shop’ Party @ The Gansevoort Park Hotel

Yesterday, eBay and designer Jonathan Adler, celebrated the opening of eBay’s Inspiration Shop at The Gansevoort Hotel. eBay and Adler created a shoppable store front that showcases a variety of fall items and gifts for the upcoming holidays. The selection is carefully curated to highlight the season’s trendiest products. All the items in the store front windows have QR codes that use eBay’s mobile technology and lets shoppers buy instantly 24/7 by downloading the eBay mobile app.

Simon Doonan, Molly Sims, Charlotte Ronson and Coco Rocha were among the party attendees and of course we didn’t miss this fab opening. Take a peek at some of the pictures from last night’s bash….

Advetures in Retail: Missoni x Target Finds

Yesterday, I was at my local Target and to my surprise, I found many Missoni X Target pieces! I tried doing a fitting room confidential a few weeks ago but everything was completely sold-out. However, it seems that at my local Target in Queens Center Mall, the collection was back-ordered or the shipment arrived late because I found plenty of outerwear and shoes, I also couldn’t resist buying a cute floppy Missoni hat I found in a miscellaneous pile of accessories. Scroll down to check out which items are available at this NYC location and please do not go to the store to buy items with the intention of re-selling them online, give everyone an equal chance to get their hands on these coveted pieces, there are way too many eBay sellers charging criminal prices for items that should be available to everyone.

The Missoni X Target floppy hat was absolutely amazing, the wool was heavier than the usual Target brand hats and I loved the Missoni signature knit accent.

I also found at the Queens Center Mall, three full racks of green corduroy coats, there were two full racks of blue bubble jackets and there were plenty of Zig-Zag pumps, however my size 6.5 was sold-out but of you’re a size 7 and up, you’re in luck. I also saw the ballet flats but only found two pairs in sizes 8 and 2. At the accessories section, I found 5 pairs of gloves, there were also about 4-5 pairs of Zig-Zag bikinis left, 5 Zig-Zag rompers (sizes XS, L- XXL) and the full outfit Margherita Missoni is wearing in the picture above, but I only found one knit top and 4 skirts. For home decor there are shelves of the flower print organizing boxes and lastly, I found one small camisole and one brown tank.

I hope this brief list helps and who knows maybe you’ll find more Missoni X Target items at your local store, keep checking and if you guys decide to venture to the Queens Center Mall, please keep us posted if you find any new items, remember, sharing is caring :)

Hi from Cape May!

I’ve been M.I.A for a few days but now, I’m back! I’m currently vacationing and stationed with the husb in beautiful Cape May, NJ. I’ll be visiting NY every two weeks but I’ll be in Cape May for the rest of the summer until September, when I’ll return to my beloved city to cover NYFW, I hope everyone is having a great summer!
